I hate my Computer... 960 probs

So this is my 2nd post but i'm not exactly happy... So now I feel my 960 is being bottlenecked for some reason and it wont downclock. I'm mad because I have a 1070 but a lower end pc that cant really run it well. So I installed my 960 back into my pc and now im pulling less frames then when I had it in before the 1070... Im ready to sell my whole pc because the purpose I built it for is not fulfilling it. Legit before the 1070 I was pulling 60-100 fps in the games I play but now im pulling 10-60 with it constantly dropping below 40 frames (This is with the 960). I dont understand... someone please provide something besides "Upgrading my computer" sure it will help but still I never had these problems when I had the 960 in there previously.

Looks to be about 80c. That must be my problem.

What CPU do you have? What cooler? Did you apply thermal paste yourself?

With a Cooler master tower cooler, no sure what its called because i got it from a friend and the thermal paste my friend applied when he gave me the cooler.

    Are you using AMD Overdrive?

If CPU temps are your problem, I would consider buying some Arctic Silver 5 thermal compound and learn to apply it yourself. It's not difficult. Watch a couple tutorials. Just remember to keep it spread thin. I've always been able to get much lower temps when I do it myself.

Btw from what I've gathered that CPU is supposed to operate around 65C under load.
  11. First make sure your CPU fan is spinning. Don't want to go through all that trouble to find out you have a faulty fan.

So I checked my BIOS temps and said it was around 60c not the 80c the CPUID HWMoniter said... So Unless It went down at the time it took me to load the BIOS then idk. So I will try that. Thermal Paste is not that expensive anyway.

So Thanks man. Appreciate your time.
  13. Temps can change very rapidly. But yes, re-applying thermal paste is the first step I'd take. A little dot or a small line across the middle of the CPU will be all you need.
