I've had a pretty low tier gaming PC for almost a year now, and I've been longing for an upgrade. I am stuck on whether I should buy a cpu or gpu. Gpu wise, I'm pretty set on the MSI GeForce GTX 1060 3gb, as it seems to run almost all games very well with a good price, too. On the other hand, the current cpu I have is an AMD FX-4300, and I'm worried that it will extremely bottleneck the 1060.

So, I'm not sure if I should purchase a good cpu or gpu first.
Thanks!

The answer is that you need both of course. Which one to get first depends on us knowing what GPU you have now. I usually suggest getting the GPU first as long as there won't be any compatibility issues. Even if the CPU is still a bottleneck, you will be able to at least use some resolutions and settings that you couldn't before.
