URGENT!! RAM speeds for a 5820K? Is 2666 to 3200 okay?

As the title states.

My system just went down because of an incompatibility with the RAM I was using. Now, I"m looking for something that will work perfectly with my MSI X99A Gaming 7.

My number one concern now is the speed compatibility with my CPU.

Needs help ASAP please. Thanks!

Out of the box if you want your system to be compatible in terms of frequency then you should not look for anything higher than 2133MHz but the best course of action is to closely follow your motherboard's memory QVL(qualified vendor list) and purchase a kit conforming to that list.

Now on the flip side, so long as it's DDR4 spec'd ram you can drop just about any ram frequency kits into your system(in theory) there can be ram manufacturing defects along the way or the board might need a BIOS update that hasn't been released yet to see your system achieve optimal performance.

I'd advise in updating your BIOS before you pick up the 3200MHz kit. Corsair and G.Skill both have a number of SKU's so which kits do you have access to? A site...
