So I have a ASUS Z87 Plus, I loved it for a long time (although I had to RMA it from the start). For some reason it won't load a default BIOS settings anymore. It keeps trying to load a very failed overclock (no +voltage, just increase on CPU speed - it was part of a test to see how perfect my CPU was).
So obviously it failed, it wasn't as the guide had said "a perfect manufacture" so ok I tried, let's reset the bios and just run some stock settings with a few tweaks. I can't get the motherboard to forget the previous saved CMOS profile from what I understand!
I have tried the onboard button to reset, I tried leaving the battery out for even up to a day (obviously the motherboard isn't even receiving power, otherwise these options would have been pointless).
A friend has mentioned that a more complex solution to fix the problem could be a new BIOS or CMOS chip. I have some knowledge in computer's but have never had a situation like this before, I seek your help Tom's Hardware!
Help me get this board going again, even if it's just for a later sale - for anyone with decent input I thank you for your time! Feel free to drop any guides or video's on the situation or ask any questions (in case my wording was poor, or you just couldn't understand my issue).
