Wattage wise you don't need any more than 450-500 watts. Quality wise they both are known for problems..

Let's say I only have a choice between VS650, CX750, RM850X and RM1000, which one do I pick?

RM 1000 is excessive and the CX and VS are junk. Your only choice is the RM850X and in reality its actually a great quality PSU.
