Hey everyone! I was given an older system to fix up for a relative. It's the ibuypower gamer chimera lx3. i7 920, 2x GTX 275, 12GB RAM, 1TB HDD. The power supply is a Xion 1000watt and the fan on it is so hard to spin it hardly moves at all when the system is running. Due to these cards being older than I'm comfortable with I don't really know what kind of power supply I should get to replace it. I don't want to spend more than ~$60 but I don't want something that's going to cause fireworks like whats in it now. The 2 275's both have 2 6-pin power inputs. Any suggestions would be excellent. I also broke the small white pins on the stock intel LGA 1366 cooler and I can't find them anywhere :[ Any help on that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

700W Minimum If You Upgrade
However make sure it's a reputable brand like Seasonic or EVGA
Rosewill isn't good for power supplies. I would just replace the fan on the PSU

Will a 450 watt really be enough for these 2 older cards? The 1000 watt that was in it was crazy over kill then? :0

Um if you really want to save money you can just replace the fan on the power supply for him. And it'll be good. But actually i didn't realize how much power one of those cards draw. So just replace the fan on the PSU . Sorry for the misinformation.

No problem! But this "Xion" CPU has a pretty bad rep online via reviews and such I really want to replace it. What do you think the minimum wattage I should consider is? I see a Rosewill 750 watt with the necessary 6-pin PCI connectors I'm considering.
