Pc won't boot up with windows 8 re-installation cd

I recently got a new hard drive because my old one was making my pc reboot out of no where. so when I try and boot up my computer with windows 8 re-installation cd it says no software found or something along those words but I've changed the bios to 1st boot cdrom and second hdd and third disabled. Please help me .

What Brand of computer do you have? Is it a dell or hp or something custom? Most of them have a preset button for you to push when you start it up that will take you to a BOOT OPTION menu that you can then just choose at that moment to boot from whatever you want. And it will boot from whatever you choose.

Or you can try downloading THIS and making a USB Flash Drive bootable windows 8 installation flash drive.
