So i bought a new 120gb SSD and I'm having trouble initializing it to partition so i could use it as a drive. When i try to initialize the disk (ssd) I tried both GPT and MBR partition styles, but it keeps giving me the god damn error. Here's the error: " The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error "
I do not have another computer to try this ssd on to see if its defective, but i double checked everything. Any questions, I will be reply right away.

I would highly appreciate for some help
Best regards

The SSD I have is the Intel 320 series SSDSA2CW120G3B5

Hey there, @Jacob!

Since you don't have access to another computer at the moment, you could try swapping the SATA cable and the SATA port where the SSD is connected to. Make sure that it's properly mounted inside the computer & that the SATA mode is set to AHCI in the BIOS, afterwards, attempt to initialize it again! Another thing you could do is plug the SSD externally via a SATA-to-USB cable, to check if you'd be able to get it re-formatted though the USB connection. I'd also advise you to see if you have the latest SATA controller & chipset drivers installed for your motherboard/computer, from the manufacturer's official website.
