I'm currently typing to you on this computer that I've been able to use the internet now for over a year, but I'm having one particular issue with the computer that I can't seem to fix no matter what I do.

The internet works fine all day, all night, whatever. Windows doesn't see that I have an internet connection, and therefore I can't get internet to the windows apps, like the windows store, or cortana.

This computer went from a RoG Crosshair IV mobo to an asus a-710 mobo or something close to it. I had upgraded and nothing changed. I've reinstalled windows 10 on this machine a couple of times, I've plugged directly into my modem and no matter what, still nothing, I can never reach the windows store.

I get the 0x80072EFD error, which says there's something wrong with my internet, but I'm not connected to a proxy, I've got my ports forwarded, I've re-installed the store through powershell, but I can't use microsoft edge, the windows store, the xbox app, cortana, anything windows app related. I've talked to a microsoft tech agent and he basically said "try getting a network card" but it's insane to me that two different network cards (one on each of the motherboards) wouldn't be able to connect to the "internet" even though I'm browsing and playing games daily.

I ended up changing the permissions in the registry of all of my network connection following this:

First, press Windows Key + R to open Run. Input regedit and click OK. The Registry Editor will open. Using the folders on the left, navigate into the following folder path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles

Right click on Profiles, select Permissions, then click Advanced. Tick Replace all child object permission entries with inheritable permission entries from this object and click OK. Now restart your system and hopefully your problem will be resolved.

Go to control panel, click on device manager and see if your ethernet drivers are isntalled. if not then put in your mainboards install disc and they shoudl be on there. If you dont have it then download them to a flash drive and install them from that.

My ethernet drivers are installed, they also were installed on the old mobo. I've even installed the ones on the disk, and then updated them online through the intel website.

Here is a screenshot of me ON THE INTERNET and also "Not Connected" to the internet... on this page, right now.
