Hello all,
I have recently started having problems with my pc for seemingly no reason. I go to start it up and it gets stuck at code b2 and has the red VGA LED lit up. I changed out graphics cards and it works fine, but the graphics card I had in their originally works fine in my other PC. Does anyone have any idea why my motherboard won't detect my current GPU anymore? It's been fine for almost a year now and there is no reason I can think of for it to have an issue. I tested for PSU issues and came out fine. I updated the BIOS for the motherboard and still no result. Anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?

For the pcie 2.0 you looked here? Go to "UEFI->Advanced Menu->System Agent Configuration, there set pciex16_1 to Gen 2 or even Gen 1", test.

There are alot of threads (lots with Asus mobo's) about this and it seems some kind of incompatibility between the uefi and the bios on the gpu.'m trying to locate something in the uefi on the motherboard side to see if it can be enabled/disabled so that the gpu works.
Looked at this (not completely sure why) since someone said taht he got his gpu working if the lan cable and usb devices were taken out of the mobo,
"UEFI->Advanced Menu->Onboard Devices Configuration->INTEL PXE OPROM , try setting it at disabled", test.

In another thread someone rma'd his gpu and with the new one no troubles.so...

I've also tried 3 of my PCIe slots (because the fourth is deactivated with a 28-lane CPU). I tried another graphics card, a GT 620, and it worked fine. It gets stuck for a second on b2, but then moves forward. I was wondering if it might be the GTX 980 Ti BIOS, but I have no idea.

Might be a bios issue, maybe an incompatibility between uefi's/biosses has occured.

I read about the "KIngpin" that it has a bios switch that can set up to three bios files, can you try and switch to each and test? See if another bios may get it to boot.

Other thing that came to mind is setting the pcie slot to 2,0,it is possible on that kind of mobo and maybe that will help.

Also seems you have a slight overclock, can you test the uefi at stock settings/ Do a clear cmos or set optimal default settings.

Will be looking further ..

I tried PCIe 2.0, and nothing happened. I cleared CMOS and set everything on my pc to default and base clocks. Nothing is working it seems. Any other ideas? I really thought 2.0 would help.

In another thread someone rma'd his gpu and with the new one no troubles.so maybe the bios on the gpu got corrupted somehow in a way that it won't work with this motherboard you have.

In a similar thread, not the same code though, the gpu wouldn't work because of i think the Vram bus didn't work right,
A quote from "Morachi",

The prototype firmware that lowers the requested 256mb memory BAR to 128mb works like a charm. I have for the first time successfully booted the Quadro K5000 in PCIe slot 1 no less than 12 times without any issues. This is a bandaid fix that is only used to prove the hardware isn't faulty, however further proves that code modifications in the BIOS POST need to be implemented in order to serve requests for a 256mb memory BAR in new generation GPUs.
A thread from 2013 so by now you'd think something like this would be fixed, but who knows.Again a thread about a different code so maybe it has nothing to do with your problem.Just trying to look further.

Don't know if there's a new bios for the KIngpin and if that would help, that's for you to try out. ;)

Thank you very much for all your help! I have decided to RMA the card because it has stopped working in any machine. The strangest thing is, it did start with the VRAM bus saying that the card had no video memory. Maybe that is the real cause of the issue. Either way, I'll have a new card soon. Thank you again!
