I recently changed my MoBo fue to some problema and today I re built my computer. It turned on without any problema. I didnt use it for a few hourd and when I pressed the power on button nothing happened. I checked everything and then did the paper clip test to the PSU at it didnt turned on. I waited a few minutes and tried it again and it turned on. Do I need to change the PSU?

Solution
Well doing the paperclip test only says that the psu will power on and that the fan s working, but doesn't mean necessarily that it can power the system.
Can you test with another psu? Maybe from a friend or ...

Hope you don't mind me unselecting best answer, doesn't seem that we are there yet.

With the psu being the lower quality it is and that it first didn't work with the paperclip test would you expect it to be that, but maybe the new motherboard caused a shortage and was a protection triggered so that could be the reason too.

You only exchanged motherboards? Both atx size? so no need for replacing stand offs ...

Checked all connections again? Cables to the motherboard i mean.
Tried to do a clear cmos? Can't hurt and is little trouble to do.

Yeah Its ok, I didnt realized I duda that.

Yes, I changed the motherboards, both are h170 chipset, atx. The other one was Asus and now I have a Gigabyte.

So you are telling me that it maybe didnt work at first for protección to the motherboard or the PSU? I didnt understand what you try to Say.

Maybe with installing the new motherboard there's some kind of shortage, maybe on the motherboard side or maybe the psu side, can't be sure, but that would trigger a protection in the psu which might explain why it wouldn't respond to the paperclip test at first
That's why i asked about the motherboard sizes, maybe a stand off misplaced, but also maybe a screw to tight which might damage the board.

Did you test again with the psu? Still no go? Can you test with another psu? Maybe from a friend or ...
Can you "breadboard" the system? See if it works outside the case.Might want to do this first, see if the old psu works then.

Hey Im back! Well my computer failed again, it wont turn on. I will make the papaer clip test again and I hope that it is the PSU because if it is the motherboard again I will have to replace both pieces again. Or what do you think? Maybe theres something Im not seeing in this.

I did the paper clip test and the PSU worked. Tried ro boot it but no responde. Checked voltages of the Main cables, the power on pins on the motherboards and they all got energy. Disconnect components and try to boot and nothing. I don't know what is going on, please help.
