depends on the space between the GPU and the side panel
it can potentially cool the GPU -- in my old case when installing the side intake the GPU ran about 4-5°C cooler
but it shouldn't touch it of course and there should be enough room.

generally 2nd intakes are mounted bottom

The side gets really hot because it's right in front of the GPU heat sink, would that pose a problem if I put an intake fan in front of it?
