How to find product key

I have windows 7 proffessional with product key activate, now i re install my windows 7 but i forgot to look my product key before re installing it. Now i cant activate my windows 7 is there any solutions?

if the machine came with 7 installed when you bought it, call the manufacturer for help. If you built it yourself, you will have to find your original media, which will have the product key.

you could have gotten the key before the install but not now.

as knott says, you need to find the original media for the key or contact the manufacturer for help if it is store bought. store bought should have the sticker on the case with the key on it.

Download and install Speccy - it will show you your Windows key.

If you have a custom build, you'll need to find your windows 7 CD case, it has the key. If you have a pre-built pc, the key is on a little sticker located near the back of the pc. If you have no sticker and no CD case, you'll need to contact Microsoft Support, I'd suggest a phone call, and they should be able to help fix the issue or activate Windows with a new key. Either way, download Speccy afterwards and use that to look up the key and then Write It Down ;p

To use Speccy to find your Product Key:

1. Download Speccy from www.piriform.com/speccy
2. Run the program and click on 'Operating System' (indicated by the red arrow)
3. Your Windows Product Key is shown where the yellow arrow is!

NB: This is actually from my system, it's that I have hidden my Product Key to avoid people using my genuine Windows key.

not in this case. he did a fresh install so the key is gone from the registry now. this is what he should have done before the fresh install

When you bought 7 did you buy a physical copy (disc and coa sticker) or was it digital (downloaded iso and emailed the product key)?
