Alright guys, I'm sorry but this is gonna be a long post.... However, I would GREATLY appreciate it if I could get some opinions. So bare with me. Alright so this all started when I bought an MSI Gtx 1070 for my computer, I have an Asus pro R.2 motherboard, so I'm pretty sure that can support it just fine. But after the upgrade, I noticed that my gpu isn't performing like it should. I noticed this when my friend was getting a way better fps then me on battlefield 1 with a gtx 970! I tried everything to fix this from updating my drivers, to cleaning my computer, updating the bios. I finally got tired of this and gave it to a computer guy to fix it. Even he doesn't know what is wrong with it, he told me he thought the graphics card was defective and I should send it back. He also said that my Os could be corrupted, or my hard drive could have to do with this. For the record, I have an extremely Kingston (blue colored) hard drive. So I went down the checklist.
-I sent my gpu back to the company for repair.
-my friend lended me his old gpu until I get mine back
- bought a 7200 rpm 2 tb hard drive
-ordered Windows 10
Now here's where it gets confusing for me..... Once my friend lent me his old gpu, I was having a lot of trouble running certain games with it. And that should be normal because it's pretty old. But my friend actually said that he was able to run most games at 60fps high settings on the same games I was playing. I couldn't even run it on the lowest settings... So I don't think it's the hard drive at all, for some reason my graphics cards aren't performing like they should. I haven't got my windows 10 yet, so I haven't installed my new hard drive or is yet. Could a corrupted os cause these issues? Something is preventing everything from running correctly. I'm sorry that this post is so hard to follow, but I hope someone can hopefully understand what I'm trying to say. Please, if you have any questions about my system please ask. THANKS!!!
