I have my iPhone 6 and I've had this backup since my iPod Touch 4 about 5 years ago. I set up my iPod Touch (first Apple device) then backed it up and transferred it to the iPhone 4s then 5 and finally the 6. I'm about to buy the iPhone 7 and I recently found out a few problems.

1. Weather app does not work.
2. Anything Google related (except YouTube) does not work.
-Can't google anything
-Can't log in using any google related sign ins (ex. Pokemon GO or Gmail applications)
-Chrome does not work at all
3. My restrictions is permanently locked.
4. Way slower than normal.
5. Facetime does not work.
6. Other small issues.

I recently found out if you backup and restore onto a new iPhone, those problem remain on your device even after a restore. Which I want to get rid of starting out with my new iPhone. I can easily transfer my photos, music, contacts and other things like that over to my new iPhone because its all automatically through iCloud.

My issue is that I'm going to loose a lot of game data that I've done over the past 5 years. A lot of games have the iCloud save option other have a Facebook save option, but a lot of apps do not. Is there any possible way of me being able to transfer that data only onto my new iPhone without having to back it up and restoring it?

Solution
Some games might also use Game Center as well. However outside of the backups, there is not a way that I am aware of. iCloud would be the other backup aside from iTunes, but you'd only be able to save 5 GB unless you pay for more.

Did you try to backup and restore? Really the listed issues would exist on your new iPhone? Normally, new device can fix old issues because it's equipped with more advanced tech, processor etc than the older device.

You are right, some other media files transferring could be very easy between two iPhones. For example, you can use airdrop to transfer photos to new iPhones. On the other hand, app data transferring seems a little hard. Because after iOS 8.3, Apple doesn't allow 3rd-party apps, such as AnyTrans, to access app data, and transfer app game data between two iOS devices. Although iCloud could backup app data, the iCloud storage is limited.

I don't want to do a backup and restore because it bring in my entire phone setting/bugs/data which I don't want. I specifically want to bring game data only. And if I do a backup and restore it bring in all my issues from the previous iPhone to the new one. (Also an Apple employee advised me not to carry a backup and restore for too long because small bugs carry over that Apple can't find).

And I managed to transfer some game data through auto iCloud saves and FaceBook saves but for the rest, I guess it's a loss.
