Is this too much Thermal Paste?

Solution
You don't leave the paste on the CPU, you have to clean it off both. You obviously went overkill. It should be a tiny dot, smaller than a pea contrary to what people say.

I have an i7-4790k, ASUS Sabertooth MK.2, 4GB Ocz RAM, Coolermaster TX 750w, Corsair H50 A-I-O CPU cooler, and a GTX 460. Now I did remove the H50 to find a massive excess of thermal paste, which I wiped off of the copper plate, and left the paste on the 4790k. My idle in bios is 27c and in Windows between 40c-55c. Now when playing CSGO it stays around 62c.

ALWAYS clean thermal paste off and reapply when removing coolers and reattaching them, a little blob, and your cooler will spread it evenly over the cpu, 90c would scare me if I saw my CPU that high. and if my memory serves me right CSGO isn't that CPU intensives. but I not too up on intel temps, as have an AMD 8350
