Hi, I recently bought a gtx 1060 to use it as an egpu with exp gdc beast v8.
My computer is an asus k55vd 6gb ram and i7 3610qm. My problem is that when i'm playing a game the monitor randomly shuts off, but the pc keeps running. But the problem is getting even worse, today i've gotten a blue error screen. The first time that happened I thought it could be the psu, so I bought a seasonic s12 520w, but it's still happening. I'm using right now a very old monitor (hp 1740), because the other one only has vga. Also, just a few minutes ago I got another blue screen, but with a very loud noise coming from the pc at the same time. So my question is, what is the problem here? Is it the monitor? The pc? I really don't know right now, I also reinstalled the gpu drivers and everything and the problem is still here. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I cannot test without adapter because I only have a laptop. I tried to set my laptop as the only device, then switched back to my monitor and then disabled the dgpu and igpu. The problem continues. The only thing I didn't do was the motherboard unlock. That only happens when i'm playing a game, and if it happens, the next time occurs even faster and worse.

Forgot to mention the adapter has a 6 pin power output on the right side, but instead of using it I just plug one of the 6pin from the psu directly into the gpu.

You need to use both I think, since there is no power going to the PCIe slot, that power plug is there to provide power through the slot. Did you read the directions?

Ok, I'll try that but I have a stupid question. If I connect one of the 6pin from the psu to the adapter I cannot plug the other one to the gpu because cables are too short. Can I use 6 pin to 2 molex to connect to the gpu or can I use a 6 to 8 pin but left two of the 8 pin behind? (Think the last one is not possible)

Ok, so I plugged one psu 6 pin into the 6p power output of the adapter, and the gpu 6 pin with the molex adapter, started a game and as soon as I started it I got a blue screen.

Hi i know this was a while ago but the side of the gpu doc (the 6 pin) is no supposed to connect to a power supply, that was used in older versions to connect to the gpu with an extra cord (v8 doesn't require it but they still have it for some reason).
What worked for me is simple switching the pcie 6 pin connector (you should have to on the psu.
