I have a Gigabyte Z170n Gaming 5. And after I changed some settings for power management it won't boot and keeps turning on starts restarts and keep this up till I unplug the thing. I thought this was supposed to have a dule bios and why won't it just use the old settings it clearly can't use those power options

Solution
yes any conductor, screwdriver tip, paperclip, an old nail. just connect the pins for say 5 seconds. then reboot.

the battery is on the back IO, it has a red/black wire pair that plugs in near the heatpipe, the battery is vertically mounted behind the port block.

short the two pins labeled CLR_CMOS under the SATA express ports. they are between two chokes near the bottom mounting hole. connect the pins with a jumper shunt or connect the pins with a conductor. this will reset the BIOS.

After you do it do you need to let it sit for a bit before it will work or unplug everything from the mb... Basically I went and took a pin from a old p4 I completely forgot about and used that after I used it. The computer wouldn't start or do anything at all no fan movement no led ect. After unplugging everything and waiting a bit and trying again without the pin it finely booted...

I'm having a similar issue, it keeps rebooting every 7 seconds or so. With no/very little fan movement. How did you fix it? Unplugging everything from inside the case? Please help:)

Ok what's the mottle of the mb also look for a 2 or 3 pin connector kinda like for the fans one should say something like "clr-cmos" that what mine says. get something metal to make a circuit with the 2x pins. I'm not sure on this but it's what I did was power it with it in. after mine didn't do anything for a bit so I unplugged everything then. hit the power button waited a few more seconds. then tryed again and it powered on like normal then went in the bios and changed the settings. If there's no button or pin try the battery the battery on mine was in a odd place pull it out let it sit for a wile and it will clear that way.
