This is an old Intel LGA 775 Motherboard which I found from a scrapyard. I'll start off with the BIOS. In the BIOS there are 7 tabs as follow:
Main, Advanced, Security, Power, Boot, Intel(R) ME, Exit

I can use the down button in the main and advanced tab to change/view settings, but all other tabs when I press the down arrow key, nothing happens but I can see all the settings available and they aren't greyed out. And weirdly under the boot tab, the last option there is "UEFI"...? UEFI in such an old mobo?

Now about the booting part. YES I took out all other drives and tried booting from both disc and USB but none worked; it says "No boot device found". If I plug my SATA hdd in it says "an operating system wasn't found".

I've even cleared CMOS by pulling the battery and set everything to default, but still no progress. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

UPDATE: Under Boot tab (which I obviously can't change if you read the above^^) there is an option for Boot to Optical Devices but it is disabled :(

At the time I had already tried all the usual troubleshooting steps such as that. But I have solved the problem at least now :) . I have never come across a motherboard which require you to change a physical jumper to allow you to even boot from anything other than an internal HDD. New experience for me :)
