How well would it run? Is there anything i should change?
Note: I won't be playing any AAA titles or anything intensive like that, the most intensive games i'll be playing are probably Rocket League and Overwatch. Thanks

You're looking at an Athlon x4 860K + GTX 970 pairing. Probably not the best use of your money.

It'll run most titles well enough, but an i3-6100 + GTX 1060 (or an RX 470 or 480) should be available in roughly the same pricepoint, and would perform much, much better overall.

As an FYI, if you're not focusing too much on budget, an SSD would be a great addition.

Looks like you're looking ~520GBP overall?

Remember, you'll need to factor in a Windows license, more than likely.

Shop around, as PCPP isn;t pulling in the best prices - but this'll give you an idea:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3.7GHz Dual-Core Processor (£92.91 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: ASRock H110M-DGS Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard (£47.72 @ More Computers)
Memory: Crucial 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory (£51.99 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£41.99 @ Novatech)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Turbo Video Card (£233.48 @ BT Shop)
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case (£54.19 @ Amazon UK)
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 620W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply (£64.18 @ CCL Computers)
Total: £586.46

That's more like 540GBP when you shop around for sales etc.

This option, with an RX470 comes in right around 500GBP when you shop around a bit:

The 620W PSU, and 16GB DDR4 can be scaled back a little (to a ~500W and 8GB) if need be. The SeaSonic 620W is barely any more money than the 520W version (a couple of sites, it's actually cheaper), so it'll never hurt to have it.

Actually i'm pretty happy with the build i already listed, it will get the job done, what i'm interested in is how it would run on the games i said (Rocket League and Overwatch). How well would both of the games do on high settings?

Ok. I'd just reitterate that I think you're wasting money on that build. Considering for very comparable cost, you'll get much better performance out of either build I listed.

As an FYI, and 860K without a significant overclock (which requires some pretty good aftermarket cooling, increasing cost) is going to bottleneck a 970 in a lot of situations. I wouldn't pair an 860K with anything better than a 960 (and a 960 is rarely worth the cost, so it's a bit of a Catch22).

As for Overwatch & Rocket League...

Overwatch:

That's with a GTX 950, so you should expect a little better. There's definitely stuttering, despite the respectable FPS - that's where you're CPU bound, and your setup, despite proposing a better GPU, would see the same issues.

Rocket League, I can't find anything worthwhile/comparable to link.

The system you listed will run most games, but will be limited by the CPU. There are any number of game bemchmarks available that show how much more performance you can get using an i3. As Barty1884 has already stated, for the same or less money you can get better performance and won't be stuck with outdated parts that have no real upgrade potential. The video below shows a few benchmarks comparing the i3 to an FX 6300.

This was the second build you listed and is basically the same price as the one i listed.
Will it have better performance than my original build?

Yes, it will have better performance.

I'd recommend you look at the first build I posted - it'll come in around 540 when you find some sales etc (PCPP isn't great for the UK). It'll perform better than the build with the RX470, but both are much better uses of your funds than the build you proposed.

Yes because of the lack of bottlenecking. The core i3 can allow the RX 470 to stretch it's legs completely.

Bottlenecking is a common issue where one part of a computer is hindering another when it's not supposed to. So for example your original build's AMD CPU would significantly hinder your GTX 970 because the CPU simply isn't powerful enough to render enough pre-rendered frames to the GPU at high speeds.

One flaw though, the GPU might have to go as you can tell by the reviews it is not very reliable, but there are plenty of other cards for the same price that would deliver the same performance.
