can I upgrade RAM if soldered to board?

Solution
Generally speaking, soldered RAM is not upgradeable. Not only do you have to worry about de-soldering (and re-soldering), a lot of the time there are custom boards, designed to only accommodate XGB RAM - the amount soldered to the board. Depending on the setup, it's unlikely to use 'standard' soDIMMs either, so finding compatible RAM, assuming the system allows it, would be somewhere between difficult & impossible.

Some have 1x soldered DIMM slot and one upgradeable. If you don't have any that are available to upgrade - you very likely cannot.

Even in the extreme situations where it can be done (soldering, non-standard soDIMMs etc), it's highly, highly unlikely to be cost effective.
