I am looking for a monitor to go with my 1070 build, I am going to get a 144hz 1080p monitor, will I have issues with my card and display if I dont have gSync?

Solution
No, G-Sync is purely to fix/prevent some images problems caused by lower/higher fps than the monitor refresh rate (Hz).
With a 1070 you'll be able to play games at 144fps @ 1080p, so there's no need to buy a G-Synced monitor, the quality will be optimal already, don't worry.

I have the ASUS ROG Swift 2K monitor at 144Hz and it comes with a Gsync module. Its really nice to be able to have a variable framerate while never seeing tears in what I'm playing. I have a 1080 but at 2K I sometimes get framerates on some titles that vary between 90-120 fps. This can fluctuate all it wants since the Gsync module does the job that vertical sync would do. So this keeps me from being locked in to 30,60, or 120 fps rates. It also removes the input lag that can come with VSync. Is it worth the money? That's only a question you can answer for yourself. All I can say is that now I have played on this monitor I cannot go back.
