USB vs toslink? is that big the difference? astro a50

Hi, i know that using toslink the sound is more clear and without interference. But do you really think that the difference is that big? Am asking this because i have the astro a50 but my motherboard doesnt have optical input.

For the issue of does it make a big difference thats well in each individuals ear what sounds better to them. if it sounds good to you its fine if you want to see if you can hear a difference find a friend that has optical and take a listen. To me theres not much difference but it depends on what I am listening to.
How ever Im old and my hearing isint what it used to be.
