Yes of course, your PC's performance in everything increases, however the other part of multitasking is having fast and enough RAM...

No you cannot. THere were some motherboards that had this ability but it has since been locked out.

You need a k processor such as the i5-6600k to overclock with a Z170 motherboard.

1. The price wasn't the question
2. That was one test, the article is from January, it hasn't proven consistent. And that ability has since been locked out.

Yes of course, your PC's performance in everything increases, however the other part of multitasking is having fast and enough RAM. For example if you only have 8gb, upgrading to 16 GB can make a significant difference in heavy multitasking.

really? so i need ASRock Mobo to OC my i5 6500?
this is safe if my OC non K CPU?

Overclocking may give you maybe 5 - 10% performance boost for multitasking. Most people that overclock are looking for maximizing performance for game play or content creation, such as video editing/encoding. So, I question if you'll see/feel an actual performance increase in multitasking with an overclock.

Again you cannot overclock your i5 6500, he was just showing the article (from 7 months ago) showing this ability to be locked out, in reference to gamerboy's post.

thank you for your time.
i appreciate it.

have a nice day.

Much bad information in this thread. Non-K overclocking is alive and well. Here are several dozens of boards and BIOS combinations that will allow you to overclock that i5-6500.

Hopefully I don't get banned for debunking bad info here AGAIN.
