I run the computers and networking at a small youth centre, we're low my funds so are still using a netgear n750 wireless ADSL router.
It works well enough most of the time, 3 systems on Ethernet, but once a week a larger group come in an lots connect to wifi, the wireless then completely stops working.
I run a main network and guest, both stop working when this happens, I have to reset the password then it works again

What should I do?
Should I upgrade the router (suggestions for under £150?) or install a dedicated wireless access point to handle the wireless connections?

Thanks for any help, keeping up to date on a budget is hard!

Solution
I would try firmware upgrades just in case it is due to a bug.

Then again it depends what you mean by "lots". 100 will kill any router, even 30 will cause it to run very slow. How many you can actually connect depend on the traffic. People doing web surfing uses much less bandwidth than just a few people watching netflix.

With a ADSL connection I suspect you will overload your internet connection also with a large number of users.

I would just add a inexpensive dual band 802.11n router similar to what you have but without DSL to say some money. Use it as a AP. This will increase the number of radios you have to spread your users over.
