Hey guys

So my agony began today when I plugged a USB drive into a front USB port on my dad's PC (running Win 7). Windows reported that the drive couldn't be recognized (error 34).
I wasn't sure if it was to do with my flash or the port (it was just ignored by windows when I plugged it into one of the rear ports) so I decided to troubleshoot by connecting my Lumia 640 LTE to the PC and got the same error (the bubble notifying me that the device couldn't be recognized). However after I connected it the phone restarted. I didn't think much of it, and went home to test my previously mentioned flash on my linux laptop. It just ignored it, making me think the flash was dead (it did work yesterday with no problems).

I put my phone on my charger since my battery was getting low and I grabbed it a while later only to find that it's battery had now fallen to 4%.
I tried another charger, to no avail. I pulled the battery out, left it out for a while and put it back in. Still nothing. I then turned it off, thinking I would do a hard reset on it. But when I turned it on, it gave me the Microsoft logo and then a battery icon with a single red bar.
Since then I have tried restarting it several times, I have tried the hard reset combo and all it does is loop me though the logo-battery. My laptop doesn't see it when I plug it in either.
I have left it plugged into the wall, hoping something would change, but now, 3 hours later, nothing did.

I thought that the front USB port on my dad's PC might have fried it, but it just doesn't seem to work in my mind:
1) I might be wrong, but I feel as if the phone would not have continued working at all, and it did right to the point where it drained.
2) People on the web who've fried phones report a weird noise, smoke, a burning smell, blackened connectors, cables etc. none of which I have seen here.

I really have no idea what's happening. I plan on taking the phone to the support center on Monday, but I would really like to hear some suggestions if you have any.

Solution
Your USB port on the phone is likely dead, and it looks like it was caused by the computer. Since the USB drive that was in the computer no longer works and neither does your phone.
