I have never had this problem before until now. My problem is every time I connect my computer(windows 10 even tried fresh reinstall) rather it be wired or wireless, it connects for 30 seconds or so then the whole internet shuts down until gateway power cycle. It's an arris mg5225g/na gateway. Have had two guys come out and they tried to switch the gateway out for another, didn't work like I figured. The only option I see is to downgrade to Modem Router and DVR box not all in one. Because this is my grandfather's name and decision on what goes he doesn't want to lose the 6 tuners. I don't know what to do, have searched for hours and can't find an answer. WOW! is the provider with their package Ultra TV. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I edited the title, better? :) Do you have any idea why this is happening?

It seems to be my computer that makes the internet go down like I ddos myself. Once I connect with my computer everything else does go down. But no other cell phone, tablet, computer etc makes the network go down. The modem stays on but with no access and it also supplies TV so it also goes down. The WOW tech guys say nothing we can do but downgrade it seems to be your computer. This has ONLY happened when we got the Arris mg5225 when we moved into the new house. It's my grandfather who pays it and he doesn't want to downgrade because of the 6 tuners it has. And they say we can't have to modems in the house. I tried plugging in my own router but it does the same thing.
Edit: So I just booted up Live Linux and all was good. So It must be something with Windows 10... >.>

It's this http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NjAwWDgwMA==/z/B6UAAOSwWTRWu550/$_35.JPG

I had the Asus router before it was great but it isn't what I am using.
Windows 10
Everything is updated
Wifi is ASUS PCE-N15 11n Wireless LAN PCI-E Card
It happens rather I am using Wifi or Wired
The gateway firmware I can't upgrade I'd have to get the login info so I can contact them online to see if there is a firmware update to push.
Like I said this has never happened before and all other Windows 7/8 and phones work fine. I haven't tried to partition my hard drive to put windows 7 on it to see if it would work I'd rather not. I did try Live Linux boot and it didn't happen. So I'm thinking there is something in Windows 10 that the gateway doesn't like, It will be connected from 0 seconds to 4mins then comes up with no DNS and I'll have to power cycle the gateway and make sure I unplug my computer or it just happens again.

Could it be the NIC the killer e2400 uses? I read that the e2200 had problems but nothing on the e2400. I don't know since it happens with Wifi even if I disable the ethernet controller. Doesn't make any sense why this "amazing new tech" doesn't like my computer when it has windows 10 on it.

Yeah, no viruses or anything. I will try the local user when my grandparents go to bed, because if it doesn't work there TV goes out. I sent an email to MSI but have yet to get a reply.
So if I'm reading it right, making a second account is what I'd have to try?
