Hey guys! So as the title suggests I am trying to clone a hard drive for my friends laptop.

Here is the situation... I have my desktop computer which I am trying to use to clone the drives (256GB SSD to a 500GB SSD). So, I plugged both his hard drives into my PC to clone one to the other.

I was unable to use Samsung Data Migration software because it seems to only want to let me clone MY C drive to the new SSD.

So, I also tried to clone his drive using AOMEI Backupper Standard which allowed me to grab his old SSD as the source and the new one as the destination...HOWEVER, it only will let me clone 4 partitions.

(His laptop is the Lenovo y70 which came with 9 partitions from the factory most of which seem essential to the PC being able to run.)

I have tried a few different combinations of partitions from the old drive to the new one and had no success getting his computer to recognize the new ssd as a bootable drive. Although the weird thing was is that in my own bios on MY PC I was able to view his NEW and OLD SSD's as bootable drives with windows boot managers...

I also considered using a system image and a repair CD although is laptop does have a disk drive and I don't have any externals lying around...

Any ideas to clone his drive?

Typing this out I tried to be clear and elaborate however I realize it's not really so please let me know if anything needs clarification...
