I have an AsROCK Z68 V3 motherboard which has 4 ram slots (A1 A2 B1 B2). I always had 2 x 4GB DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 1600 MHz PC3-12800 rams inserted into my motherboard. I recently bought 2 more of the same rams and inserted them into my motherboard. Upon bootup I received an error 55 (memory not installed). Initially I thought one of my RAMS may be broken. However, after trying multiple RAM combinations I concluded my ram works properly together and all are functional. I am unsure what can be causing this but it seems like an issue related to my B2 slot. The following were my tests;

  • ■ A2 B1: Pass - I tried this with multiple different RAM combinations.
    ■ A2 B1 B2: Fail - Error 55
    ■ A1 A2 B2: Pass/Fail - Bootsup, however B2 RAM does not appear
    ■ A1 A2 B1 B2: Fail - Error 55
    ■ A1 A2 B1: Pass - I tried this with multiple different RAM combinations.

P.S. When I post on tomshardware I am having trouble with editing text (e.g. bullets, copy/pasting console output, etc.). What editor is used to post messages, something similar to LaTex.

How do you check for this? Also, is there a way to fix this?
