Uplay pauses game download when I play a game?

So I'm relatively new to Uplay. I've been getting back into Assassin's Creed lately and bought a few of the games. I'm trying to download Black Flag, but once I start playing Syndicate, the download pauses. I know with steam there is an option to allow downloads while in game, but I can't seem to find anything like this in the Uplay settings. Anyone have any idea if it's possible to allow Uplay to download a game while playing a game at the same time? Google isn't coming up with any information on this.

There is a PAUSE option you can click on MANUALLY but NO there is NO AUTOMATIC option yet on Uplay. So if you want to play Syndicate (wow that is so old school :) ) you shouldn't be affected by it downloading BF in the background. Or better yet, click to 'install' just before you go to bed, and will be done when you get up the next morning, never a problem then!

First. The problem is that he wants to download in the background, but Uplay doesn't allow it. What happens is that the download AUTOMATICALLY PAUSES when another Ubisoft game starts, and RESUMES when that game is closed. So saying that Uplay does not have an automatic option makes no sense, since the only option during gameplay is the automatic pause. There is no option for downloading in the background.

Second. What he meant was Assassin's Creed Syndicate (which is new, and not the old school 'Syndicate' game. Please be updated!

Third. Downloading before going to sleep might be an option, but most would not want to waste power by letting their PCs run even when the download is done. That's why many resort to downloading in the background while playing.

I came across a certain issue with this. I couldn't install games on my drive because the speed would start as normal... then drop to 0 B/s. The solution that worked for me was format the drive and install again. This solved my problem, hopefully it can for you unless you have other elements of nature involved with this being your only drive.

Since someone else resurrected this thread, here is what worked for me, to allow uplay downloads while ingame.
launch update, go ingame, watch it grind to a halt, cancel update, go back to downloads (since update button will not work on the game tab), hit restart download.
et voila. uplay downloading while "uplay"
