Hello Guys,

Here is my current situation.

When I setup my DSL internet service two years ago, I had the technician add an existing phone jack to the DSL service line on the 2nd floor of the house. I'm currently in the process of moving to the basement but my ISP tells me they can't add additional phone jacks to the DSL service (dry-loop) due to potential legal issues (e.g fires, etc). They recommend I get service from certified electricians/networking specialists for this job. Any recommendations on how to add an existing or new phone jack in the basement of the house connected to my DSL service would be greatly appreciated.

Phone wire is very forgiving. Still if you do not have a actual phone using the wires I would go back to the demark and disconnect everything and then run a new wire from the demark to you new location. Your other option is to just go from the nearest active phone jack and splice the wires.
