So, I recently upgraded my build to an i5-6600k and an Asus Az-170 mobo, plus 16gb of ram. My Gpu is currently the gtx 970. However, the witcher 3 won't avg past mid-60 fps on low settings. bf4 sees drops from about 100 fps down to 60 which feels and looks terrible.

I upgraded from an fx 6300 and I got ddr4 ram.

Hey there, I need to know a few things.

What is your current version of the Nvidia Graphics Card Driver?

What is brand and wattage is your power supply?

Also, what monitors are you using to notice the difference between 60FPS and 100FPS?

From what I can find out, the average FPS for the GTX970 in BF4 at Ultra Details at 1080P is 77.2FPS. Your card will not get you the 144FPS that you need to see the ultra smooth game play unless you lower the details.\

Now for the Witcher, mid 60's is average for low settings with a i5 which in this case is your bottleneck from what I can tell. Your GTX 970 is a great card, but it wasn't designed to give people 144FPS constantly on ultra details at 1080P.

Here is a link that Nvidia wrote that might help you out in optimizing the performance of your card in The Witcher 3.
