Hey guys so my previous hard disk was getting frequent bad sectors so I decided to buy a new hard drive.

so i ordered a WD 2 TB black hard drive and it arrived today so i went ahead and tried to connect the new hard disk on my system.

While i was connecting the sata power cable the plastic L-shape bracket broke off on the brand new hard drive I am scared can i RMA it? is there anyway i can make it work? or will i be wasting all my money on the new hard drive for nothing?.

the Pins got bend but not broken i managed to straigten them up manually.

But unable to connect the sata power cable without the L-bracket support it's not holding.

Any quick solution guys?.

Thanks.

I would look to RMA the new HDD. It sounds like there was some kind of defect in the retention part of the connector since I've seen some particularly brutal (IMO) treatment of those connectors and have not seen one break like you describe
