So i have these prices:

EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 GAMING 6GB - EDIT pricing is €288,95 - 322,41 US dollars

or

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 WINDFORCE OC 6G € 281,49 (314,09 U.S. dollars)

or

XFX Radeon RX 480 RS 8GB Hard Swap - € 281,00 (313,54 U.S. dollars)

What is the best choice for:
- 1080p gaming
- minimum of 60fps
- at least medium/high settings
- for future usage: vulkan dx12 etc

The specs of the PC:
- Intel i5 6400
- 8gb ram from Team group elite 2.133mhz
- 520W PSU from Seasonic
- Fractal Design Define S - Window

I'm not going to overclock anything!

Solution

keep in mind that the power issues were with the reference model not with a custom like the XFX that uses a 8pin connector

for the price tag, I'd go with the Rx480 tbh
but the Gigabyte is a nice card too

the 1060 will give...

You'll have to sort out your priorities: the RX480 fares better in DX12/Vulkan while the 1060 fares better everywhere else.

If you can, your best course of action would be to wait until supply catches up with demand so prices might drop closer to launch MSRPs.

I personally prefer the EVGA GTX 1060 Superclocked. It looks exactly the same as the regular one, but it actually has a different cooler. I believe it's about €7 more expensive. The GTX 1060 is generally more powerful than the RX 480, but the RX 480 outperforms it in some games, not necessarily all DX12 or Vulkan games. I have a bigger trust on Nvidia since AMD had some power issues with RX 480 before (it was solved already), so my vote goes for the EVGA GTX 1060, superclocked edition, if you can find one.

Games I play right now:
-Rainbow six siege
- cod black ops 3
- cod ghosts (yes i know xD)
- BF4 and bf1 in the future
- doom
- dishonored 2 in the future

So the pricing is the same (rx 480 and gtx 1060), what card would you pick?

So i can't find the superclocked, only EVGA's with one fan.. :/
i replyed to invaled error this:

the 1060 will give you more fps in dx11 games like bf4
but both cards will max them out easily

the difference between the 1060 and the Rx480 gets less significant in dx12 where they're usually all around the same speed
so it's for me down to pricing. the couple extra fps in dx11 aren't quite important since both run on 60fps+

Thanks for the help! so the difference in pricing is 0.50 cents lower for the rx 480 xD

That puts the cat among the pigeons!
The 470 is 10-12% weaker.

That is a massive price difference though!

At medium the 470 will cruise through stuff at more than 60fps, high/ultra you may get drops to mid/high 50's.

To me that's worth saving $100 - elsewhere in the world to you the 470 is only 10-15% cheaper than a 480.

So i checked the performance of the rx 470 and i didn't expected the results i found.
The card handles most games in 1080 above 60 fps on average.
on average it is 8% slower on games compared to the rx 480
but the pricing difference is about 24%
So it has better price/performance :/ now I'm even more confused which card I should pick xD

Indeed mate , at that price difference the 470 is plainly the best buy easily.
Like I said in the UK the price difference is comparable to the performance difference.

Rx 480 4gb nitro is £195-200
Cheapest RX 470 4gb is £175

Over here it makes sense to just stump up the extra £20 for the 480 , at your prices it just doesn't at all.
