Can't fit vanity plate back on my case.

I just installed my GTX 1080 FTW into my s340 case. Before I did that I had to remove the "vanity plate" on the back of my case. For some reason EVGA made the 1080 to have a bunch of metal parts stick out of everywhere (probably just so it would look fancy) so I can't fit the vanity plate back on. Would it be bad to have this left off? There will be a hole in the back if I dont.

If not, post a picture of how the card sits now so we can have a better idea.

Oh wait, no I didn't mean those slots, there is a removable slot that goes vertically right next to those.

Actually I just realized that on the Razer edition it doesn't have that. It doesn't slide left or right, theres only one hole for the screw and its where the metal parts i was talking about are now sticking out of.
