Hello,
After a few years use, my laptop has shut off and will not turn back on no matter the mount of troubleshooting I try (I'm an A+ certified technician). As it turns out, my laptop is still under warranty and Dell has asked me to send it in. Now I know that there is a chance that the technicians there will wipe my hard drive. Here is my question:
I have removed the hard drive from my laptop. I have a desktop PC as well that I've attached the hard drive to via a USB connector. Is there a way I can create an image of my laptop hard drive and store it in a folder on my desktop computer or something like that? (Without booting to the hard drive if possible). It has to be something where if they wipe my hard drive, I can use that image to restore it to its state before it was wiped.
Thank you in advance!
