Hello all, trying to upgrade a PC that I built since I'm fairly certain the old mobo fried (computer would get to the Windows loading screen, then computer would restart, get to the loading screen, restart and the cycle would continue until unplugging power supply as even a hard shut down wouldn't work). Here is my old build.

--ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard
--AMD Athlon II X4 630 Propus Quad-Core 2.8 GHz Socket AM3 95W ADX630WFGIBOX Processor
--ASUS GT GeForce GT 240 DirectX 10.1 ENGT240/DI/1GD3/A 1GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card
--Western Digital WD Green WD5000AADS 500GB 5400 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Hard Drive Bare Drive
--Western Digital WD Green WD15EARS 1.5TB 64MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive
--and 8GB of Memory (sorry, don't remember exactly what kind and I'm not near my computer components)

This is what I bought to upgrade to

--ASUS 970 PRO GAMING/AURA AM3+ AMD 970 + SB 950 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 ATX AMD Motherboard
--G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-1866C10Q-32GXL

However, after plugging those new pieces in and attempting startup all I got was a black screen, as if my monitor wasn't detecting any video input at all. The mobo would light up, give all indications it was working, but no matter what me and my buddy tried it was a no-go. We attempted to even use the old memory, plug in only 1 to then all 4 memory sticks, a few other things, but all was a no go. So now I've returned the mobo (kept the memory) as we were told it was possibly a mobo that was DOA. So my question is, for my original problem is it possible I also need to replace the processor? Or did I buy a new mobo that doesn't work for my current components? Or was it that this new mobo was really just a DOA and all I need to do is buy this same mobo and try again? Thanks all, I appreciate any help.

That wasn't the problem of your mobo. I guess that was of windows , try installing Windows 7 or any other you have or try reinstalling windows and check your processor fan whether it is working properly or not and also use rubber on ram sticks. Erase the bottom of ram (golden color thing) with eraser.
And if this doesn't work then follow this
