hi everyone. my concern is my sapphire r9 380x 4gb nitro hits 72 degree celsius temp while playing GTA V on 60 fps. im on auto fan. is it safe hitting that temp? TIA

Solution

you can set a custom curve mate, you dont need it at 60% all the time, just set it at 60% for 60c & above

something like the above is what youre after

just set to 40c at 20% ,then the next block 70c at 70% - everything in between will automate itself between those 2 points.

I had one Sapphire Card, the R9 280x. My experience was the same like yours so, what i did:
1. Removed/cleaned cooler
2. replaced thermal paste (the old thermal paste didnt even cover half the chip and was dry :( )
With this procedure, i won 10 degrees celsius!!! from 74 down to 64. That is alot...

Maybe this will be a solution for you aswell :)

i have no plans opening the hardware just to loose my warranty. :(

^ I would not worry mate .
My 970 came with a below 60c zero fan profile (meaning the fans don't turn on till 60c)

It was the first thing I disabled because I'drather have the fans run constantly at 30% even on desktop than my GPU sitting at 50c all the time.

I have 4 desktops, everyone has a custom fan profile set in afterburner , most GPU manufacturers set up their auto profiles for silence over actual cooling nowadays !
