Well the 295x2 only outperforms* (*Via raw performance) at higher resolutions. The 1070 is better at 1440p and below, only at 4k does the 295x2 take an edge.
That being said, the 295x2 will never hold that performance across all titles. In a large number of titles you will be seeing half that performance.
This is not to mention heat, power consumption, and scaling issues.

The 295x2 hasnt been relevant for a while now.
