Gaming Over Monitors of Different Sizes

Hi everyone!

I just made this account because I've recently switched over from PS3 to PC (albeit a laptop).

A while back I played on a friend's triple monitor setup and I would like to try a dual monitor setup for gaming.

The problem is the laptop's screen is 15.6 inches and my second monitor is much larger.

I was wondering if its possible to scale the monitors in a way that a game spanned across the laptop screen and the second monitor would not be distorted?

Here's a pic of my setup:

Thanks for any advice :)

I can be done, it's just not a good idea to do it. Why would you want dual screens for gaming? Your center of the image is cut in half, and the increased resolution would make games run slower, the screens on a...
There is no real way to do what you want, for a few reasons.
Generally, you dont want to be doing surround/eyefinity with different sized monitors, sometimes it wont even enable.
Second, your laptop likely does not have the capability to run surround/eyefinity.
Third, you want an odd number of monitors for surround/eyefinity.

Why a two monitor set-up for gaming - whatever you're looking at would be split in the centre, which is where one normally looks and focuses. Like holding a ruler in front of your eyes all the time.

Thanks for the input, you're right about my laptop not running surround, my nvidia control panel doesn't have any display options. I do remember using a third party program to change a game's resolution on an older desktop though. If anyone knows the name of a program that does that I could try experimenting...

Well the thing is, that would not happen since one of the monitors is considerable larger than the other. the Center could be offset, on the edge of the larger screen.

They said it couldn't be done! :p

Here's how I solved tho problem so far:
1. I set my laptop's resolution to 1360 x 760. The pc now thinks it's a smaller size.
2. Changed the game's resoluton in config files to 3040 x 1080.
3. Re positioned window with app called Simple Runtime Window Editor.

I can be done, it's just not a good idea to do it. Why would you want dual screens for gaming? Your center of the image is cut in half, and the increased resolution would make games run slower, the screens on a different heights unless you lift up the laptop to match the monitor, the resolution for dual screens at 1360 x 760 would be 2720x760 not 3040 x 1080. Plus just the different size monitors will look odd.

You can make your umbrella lighter by cutting holes in it, but that does not mean it's a good idea.
