CPU Fan Speed is 7000RPM?!

So I just installed a brand new cooler master nepton 280L dual cooler on my CPU and eveything is completely calm inside my case even when the panels are off. However, in the BIOS and using HWMonitor and Speedfan, the CPU Fan is 7000 RPM. How is that even possible? Is it a bug or what?

Yeah sounds like a bug. It's likely trying to read the pumps RPMs. You could try upgrading your bios to see if it helps if you really wanna tinker

I asked the guys at Cooler master and they said that 7000-7400 RPM is perfectly normal and is the optimal pump RPM and it should be unlike other fans running at 100% all time and my CPU_Fan header seem to be doing that on its own. So I guess I am good to go? What do you think?

Well there ya have it. Guess it was reading it properly the whole time. That's like 3x the RPM of the corsair aio cooler pumps
