Hi, so I decided to upgrade my gpu today, uninstalled my old gpu driver, shut down. Switched to my new graphics card, hooked up the 8 pin power cable and booted.

No problems until I installed the driver from the disk which was included, it asked me to reboot, then BSoD while it was shutting down...

Since then, my pc turns on to a black screen, has a "normal" post beep and then nothing. Sometimes it shows the splash screen, but I cant access any settings [it just clicks].

I've tried booting using the intergrated graphics and it doesnt work either, after many boot loops it will show a blue "gigabyte uefi bios" screen, but its completely blank aside from the title.

Is there anything I can do? This is driving me crazy, especially since it was working before the driver update...

Im assuming its a problem with my motherboard.

If you need any more specific details, thats no problem, ill provide whatever I can.

Specs;
Gigabyte ga z77 d3h
8gn hyperx ram
Coolermaster rs-700-acab-d3 700w psu
Intel i5 2500k
Old gpu: gigabyte gtx650ti boost 2gb
New gpu: asus gtx 970 strix

So during the time its taken me to write this post, it has been powered off, i thought id try it again, and now its turning itself on and off after 1 or 2 seconds...

Hi

Dont panic
Refit the previously working gpu
Reset cmos via jumper

Try to start in safe mode F8
If it now works
Tell us what are old & new gpu?
What motherboard and psu make model and power rating?

If system still wont boot into windows shut down & disconnect sata cables from hard drive
You need to find out if hardware problem or corrupted windows drivers or registry

Refitting the old gpu doesnt work, how do i seset the cmos, just remove the battery? The jumoers dont seem to do anything...

Pc wont boot past the splash screen, so no option for safe mode or anything like that.

Ill edit the original post with my specs now

Ok so i tried everything in your post and its doing nothing, the same things are happening
It stays on splash screen and has a "normal post" beep every minute or so.

Is this a motherboard problem then or what, ive been trying to get this working for 6 hours straight. Im so frustrated.

Is there any other things i could possibly do? If its the motherboard, would i be better off just buying a new one?
