Hello everyone, this is my first time building a computer and I seem to have run into some trouble.

I managed to get the computer built but forgot to remove the plastic cpu cap on the motherboard.

The computer powered up fine, then I realised I hadn't put the cpu in correctly. Now that I have resolved the issue, my computer will briefly power on for about half a second before shutting down. The computer powers up normally again if I remove the cpu

My Specs

Processor- AMD FX-9590 4.7GHz 8-Core OEM/Tray Processor

Cooler- Deepcool Maelstrom 120T 83.6 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler

Motherboard- Gigabyte GA-990FX-Gaming ATX AM3+ Motherboard

RAM-Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory

Hard Drive-Toshiba Product Series:DT01ACA 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Graphics Card-Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Mini ITX OC Video Card

Case-Corsair SPEC-01 RED ATX Mid Tower Case

Optical Drive-Lite-On iHAS124-14 DVD/CD Writer

Network Card- TP-Link TL-WN781ND PCI-Express x1 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter

I'm guessing that my CPU is broken or my Power Supply isn't strong enough, but I really am not sure.

Any help would be much appreciated.

UPDATE:

I have managed to get the computer to power on now, however this only lasts for 10-15 seconds and it switches itself off. It also cannot connect to my monitor, I can turn it on using the Motherboard power button. Does this mean my supply is at fault?

Thank you

Max. Combined Output +12V:30 A
That is your power supply 360 Watts max and I would think it can't put that out even so it's nothing close to what you need.

For cooling the processor nothing less than a 240mm rad like a H100 it can be made to fit in your case with some work maybe. This guy made it fit.

The bad is you could still have problems. From their I would take out 1/2 the memory and try it then check the CPU for bent pins.
You should of posted here first nobody on here would recommend that processor it's just a overclocked 8350 with a massive power draw.

Oh I'm sorry, didn't realise I hadn't posted the power supply it's a 650W power cool but it's only 80 plus certified.

In terms of cooling would a master cooler seidon 120V be sufficient?

Thank you

Hello,

I've ordered a much better gold certified power supply from EVGA and I have worked out where I can install the corsair unit you mentioned

Thanks for your help and time and I'll post how it goes when the parts arrive
