Is this really such a bad setup?

Hello everyone,

Last few weeks I was planning to get a i3 6100 and a Asus H110m with ddr4 ram. The thing is the gpu. I have a Gtx470, would it be a total waste of the cpu's money and power waste with using this gpu. On the internet I see people asking for Gtx980 etc... Would you suggest a cpu and mobo for this gpu, which is good and modern and also not weak? With +2 cores, an Intel. Thanks in advance.

The i3 6100 is a pretty good cpu , it will not be a waste down the line you can get a better gpu and you will be fine. Other then that I can see your budget is like 200 250 , there is nothing better really than the i3 in this range.

Will the i3 still be worth the money, even with this gpu?

Well that motherboard is even more expensive than the cpu :/
Will is it work on the H110M-K? It has the right socket and also DDR4 ram (Skylake doesn't really like DDR3?). And will it be worth even with this GPU?

Overclock it? Also there goes a new cooler, a better psu... I don't really need an OC, as I said my GPU is old, and I'm asking is the cpu worth the money, because I really can't spend for a new gpu. As I mentioned the Asus motherboard, some suggested me that mobo already. Yeah sure I could always use a bit more perfomance...But oc-ing? Well, I have a Q8200, but I'm afraid OC-ing it. Thanks for your answer :)

Oh sorry, didn't see CPU the first time. I meant $115 for the mobo and ram, and all in one (ram, cpu, mobo) is about $225 :)
