Overclocking FX-8350 with stock cooler

My friend is getting a FX-8350 and he wants to know if the stock cooler is enough for overclock or does he need an aftermarket one?

Cryorig H7 , cheapest I would go , good for mild overclocking.

No thermal paste needed comes with it.

Tell him to rethink the FX series, even overclocked they cannot keep up with a stock i5 in the majority of tasks if not all. No the stock cooler is not enough and he will need a good (more expensive) motherboard and PSU. I cannot see any reason to buy an FX CPU, they are showing their age.
