Is there a bottleneck in my system?

I want to know if there is a bottleneck in my system, I have a ASUS STRIX GTX 970 4GB graphics card and i5-4460S (2.9GHz/3.4GHz Turbo Boost), is my CPU holding back the GPU?

in yours, it's probably the GPU that holding back the CPU to show it's full potential

So I could upgrade the GPU even more and it would be okay???

You will have another bottleneck. Your GPU is fine, its a great card.

Depending on your games, but not much more. I'd say that 1060 is not enough of an upgrade and 1070 might be too much for your CPU unless you have high res monitor (1440p or above).
for 1080p, you are fine with GTX 970

I think I'll keep the 970 for a little longer, how long do you think it will last me with 1080p gaming

I guess you will be fine at least a year.
further you may start to reduce some settings to keep the FPS high enough. that way will last 2-3 years.
