I have a GT 610 and GT 630 to install. Nvidia states that both use the same driver. The PC has an onboard VGA and DP port. According to "experts", setting the video bios to "Auto" will allow the use of both onboard and GPU video.

However, I need some help in the order to install the GPUs and driver. I seem to be in a catch 22.

1. With the PC on and no GPU, I try to install the driver and I receive the "hardware not detected" message.
2. If I shut down the PC and install the card, I have NO image on my monitor. It is plugged into the VGA port. This machine has a VGA port and a DP port onboard.

It is a PC with 1 PCI-e slot and 2 PCI slots and small format. I am using only the HDMI and DVI ports on the card. I plan to finally install 2 cards - a Gt 630 PCI-e and a Gt 610 PCI.

Please tell me in what order to install with at least 2 monitors that have both a VGA and DVI input. I have DVI, VGA and 1 DP to DVI cables. I obviously need to see Windows explorer and the desktop to install. I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

I am aware of power and cooling requirements. As I already have the cards, I want to use these.

Thanks

For 2, you only tried the mobo? It probably just switched to the dgpu so plug it into there. Uninstalling drivers might just be an unnecessary step. Setting the bios to auto will likely not let you use both and it will default to the dgpu and disable the igpu. If there is no option to turn on igpu when a dgpu is present, then you can't have both on. It's common for older pcs to not be capable. Why do you want all these gpus in 1 pc?
