So though I'm not completly new to overclocking I am a novice. I've only ever OC'd on the ASUS Crosshair Formula Z with a 8350 and 9590 cpu.
My current set up with an intel I7 6850 and MSI X99A SLI plus board is complete Greek to me. I only found one or two brief tutorials on you tube and all they did was adjust multiplier and voltage leaving everything else on Auto which might explain the crashes I was getting at a mere 4.2 ghz.
Stock runs fine and and the Auto OC button in bios is fine to at 3.9ghz so the chip and board are good.
Anyone familiar with this bios/board? Perhaps a link to a good specific OC tutorial or perhaps if somone has the time they could type out a good start?
I know this chip isnt stable in any review past 4.4ghz...so Im just trying to get to that or at least 4.3.
Here my specs if they are needed: intel 6850k, MSI X99A SLI plus, Corsair h110 cpu cooler, Cougar 1200W 80+ PSU 32 GB Corsair vengence DDR4 3200 ( currently at 2400 default in bios).
Thanks so much in advance.

Solution
Well each CPU is an individual Beast while one might run 4.4 at 1.3 another might take 1.37 and another might not even run at 4.4. Might try a slight increase to the VCCSA voltage maybe + 0.05 or so

I had it around 1.35v which was actually a bit higher than others had the same cpu at 4.4 in reviews. Temps didnt get above 75c , 3 hours prime 95. Seemed to work fine for a few weeks then random shutdowns which were solved by going back to bios defaults.
My only guess is all the others features left on auto might causing the problem? Hence the request for somone who has OC'd with this board before.
