Computer shuts down after running GPU on medium-high load for a bit. GPU temp always under 80 degrees. Help?

After it shuts down (The power light indicator stays on though, I have to press and hold for 5 secs for it to go completely off), I have to wait 5-10 minutes for it to turn on again. Otherwise it just runs the fans and doesnt even beep or POST or display anything.

Some other details that might help me uncover this mistery:

- The computer beeps 5 times 90% of the time I turn it on, yet it boots normally. 5 times means no GPU. Weird.

- The computer has a false start whenever it gets plugged in and turned on. power light quickly flashes, then 3 seconds, then boots normally. It doesnt happen after that, until I unplug it and plug it back in.

I've done the usual, removing things and putting them back in, rearranging cables... everything is in order...
