Hey,
So I recently bought myself a new i5 6600k, I bought the GA-H110M-DS2 DDR3 motherboard for it. This is becouse I was on a low budget and I couldn't afford to buy a more expensive motherboard. I read in a few other post that the i5 6600k only supports DDR3L or DDR4 ram, not regular DDR3 since this would break the cpu over time or something.

Now what I want to know is how much worse is regular DDR3 for the 6600k? As in will I get a few weeks, few months or few years less lifetime from the cpu?

Thanks

No don't use DDR3 RAM on DDR3L motherboard the CPU and RAM will not be damaged but the power regulators on the motherboard will fry because DDR3 has higher power requirement than DDR3L which will cause serious damage to motherboard.

You can use DDR3L on DDR3 motherboards with no problem but not DDR3 on DDR3L motherboards.
